This location is one of my favorites. The service here is better than most. Prices that won't break you. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
Cool place. Fresh made sandwiches, pastries and good drinks. Had Cuban ham sandwich and small salad.
Updated review for Christmas 2019. Their food has taken a huge step up in quality. The coffee is outta site. Thanks for all that you do!!!Ordered a cappuccino and omelette. The omelette and potatoes were overly salted and peppered. Would be better to lightly season and let the customer add more if necessary. Tasted not good and eyes are watering. The cappuccino was not bad but it had a sour and overly roasty flavor, not smooth. I think some people maybe big coffee connoisseurs probably like that style but I was not a big fan of it lol. Was more like a strong espresso flavor like you’d find in a cortado or macchiato. Also the setting is kind of ramshackle, pig pen setting with tables smattered around, very bright fluorescent lighting, and uncomfortable seats. Of course it’s more interesting than a Starbucks, especially with the wider menu selections. Also the exterior is appropriately old soul worthy.
Coffee, food, and atmosphere are all top notch. A good place to hang out and relax or to grab a great cup of coffee for the road
Thought this location might have better seating and be quicker than the Weatherstone but, I WAS WRONG. Only slower and the staff was even less friendly. Really a shame considering they have good coffee. DO NOT come here unless you plan on wait over 5 minutes for a simple latte. The food takes even longer. With so many great coffee shops in Sacramento this place really needs to pick up the pace.
Looking for a spot to get a quick bite to eat and wandered down an alley to The Old Soul bakery. Tucked out of the way in an alley between 17th and 18th streets as well as L and Capital streets in Midtown Sacramento is this gem. It has one large space that comprises the kitchen, dining area, and bakery. A good spot to meet friends for coffee and pastires or beer and sandwiches/pizza.
Yum coffee and teas. Small plates to go along with it. This place is a hidden gem. Plenty of space to study, have meetings, kid friendly, read etc. Loved the history and the ambience.
This place is kinda hide, went here while visiting some friends for Christmas. Has a really cool/nice vibe... got the “standard” under the breakfast menu (can’t remember the name, not sure), it has avocado, egg, bacon in a English muffin (but it’s not a regular one, my friend told me that they make them in-house and the bread too, not sure if that’s true or she is messing with me) really good; the sandwich is kinda small (I easily would have had two) but really good. Completely recommended. She ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was also good! (Not as good as mine tho)
Really delicious coffee
The food is always delicious and the in staff servers are always so sweet, but the catering isn't too great... I've remembered ordering from them through catering several times and it always arrives late or the catering line replies after a few hours of submitting a catering request. I suggest working on this, as the food is so delicious.
Solid neighborhood spot! Pretty noisy inside and a fairly small space so probably better for more intimate dinners if you want to be able to hear one another.
Great urban industrial vibe with excellent drinks. Had a dirty chai, and it had just the right amount of spice. Nice spot to sit and chill, with a good mix of tables and comfy chairs.
Nice place, surprisingly quiet, with good coffee. The staff was excellent.
3rd wave coffee, but cozy with great comfort food and in-house pastries. Honey cured bacon is quite good.
Finishing up Christmas shopping and getting a bite to eat. The breakfast sandwiches & BLT are sooo good! The place is comfortable, the staff very nice & helpful . If you haven't checked this place out - you should!
Really nice atmosphere. The breakfast sandwich was really good and am looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Also the coffee is great.
Best coffee shop in Sacramento! With multiple options of coffee beans. The food was delicious and the service was great! If you’re in Sacramento you need to stop by
Great local coffee shop with a good amount of food options. The food was pretty good and so was the coffee. They have a good amount of table and couches.
The industrial feel of the place is nice. The coffee is nice. The employees are "EH". I feel like they should bring the coffee to you like other small-chains do and heat up the pastries... otherwise they should have Starbucks pricing cause it ain't cheap girl.
Always such a cool, relaxing vibe here, plus you enter through the alley so it feels a bit like a hidden place for locals, which it sort of is. Super nice staff, good selection of drinks (even beer, I think) and food. Comfy black leather couches to sink into and read the paper or get online. Must visit.
Doing good coffee in a great old building!
Live performance was good. Great services. Atmosphere was good. Great location. Coffee was tasty.
First time here, and fairly easy to find considering the entrance faces an alley. Service was friends and there was plenty of seating for a Saturday morning. Had a macchiato that took less than 3min to get and a bacon chive scone. Scone was nice and would have tasted better warmed. Not sure if that was an option and I didn’t ask. Relaxing, comfortable vibe!
Lovely local coffee roaster, with several locations. This one does all the roasting and baking. Friendly staff and plenty of wall outlets.
Cool look. Fresh and excellent tasting bakery goods. So fresh so tasty. I cant wait to try all of the baked goods. And the staff is extremely friendly. I ed would give more than 5 stars and I'm not usually this pleased but its top notch
Very nice and friendly coffee shop! Best customer service out of all the coffee shops I’ve been to. Nice to see people take pride in their work.
Great staff and excellent coffee and coffee drinking atmosphere. Really easy going and laid back place to hang out and enjoy a nice brew.
In Sacramento, just off L St in the alley in the back, is a coffee oasis that will satisfy your caffeine cravings! I drove up from San Francisco for business. Too early to eat and decided to grab a latte. Found this place on Google search Coffee near me. OK Google! The latte was perfection and I also tried the Orange Pecan Biscotti and it was divine! Gentleman behind the counter was friendly, courteous and efficient. 5 Stars and thanks for the great service and caffeine.
Great atmosphere. Friendliest staff. Variety of selections. Prices are reasonable. Menu selections is just one of the attractions. Coffee is always on point!!!
Loved this place ! All the employees were so sweet to my family & I. We are visiting Sacramento from Houston & we now have a warm/ welcoming experience of this city 😊🙌🏼
two thumbs up for this place. i will be back with my relatives. this place has a good feel to it. they have so many great reviews for a reason.
Lovely and cosy place,we ordered mocha and cappuccino and both were perfectly done...wished they had more dessert options though.
Fantastic coffee shop, bakery and cafe with a name that fits their vibe. A great selection of coffee from around the world, choices of teas, lattes and assorted cafe drinks. This eclectic little gem is hidden away on a side street, but we'll worth the search. The atmosphere and selection of food and drinks makes this a welcome oasis from the bustle of downtown, a great study spot or a perfect place for a quiet date. I highly recommend checking out Old Soul.
Great place, wonderful options for a cafe. Being a 3rd wave roaster I was hoping for better coffee. The coffee was fair, but lacked character... bland at best, but not bad, just lifeless. No pour over option, just drip. Great hang out spot though. They've put a lot of time and thought into the place.
Good coffee and good atmosphere. Old Soul has a couple of locations but this location on L street is the original location. I love picking up roasted coffee beans from this place and it is definitely worth the price for the quality. They also service high quality pastries, sandwiches and pizzas. It's also connected to the Big Stump Brewing Company if you want to get your beer fix after that coffee fix!
